Cake Pops - The Latest Craze in Dessert Making!

Kitchenware Direct has just added the latest range of Wilton cake pops. Don’t know what cake pops are? This short guide will give you the low-down on the latest craze in dessert making.

First of all, you need to purchase all of your decorating accessories. Amongst the many options are pop sticks, pans, wraps, silicone moulds, candy dips; the list goes on. Kitchenware Direct has all of these options covered, so you won’t be caught short here.

There are two options when baking the balls used for cake pops. Most people bake a cake, let it cool, crumble it, and then roll it up into small individual balls. If you prefer, you can buy moulds (in fun shapes like stars, hearts and bears) and bake the cake pops from scratch. Either way, you should have enough cake pops to decorate to keep you (or your kids) entertained for a while.

Simply place your preferred flavour in the microwave, melt the topping, stick your Wilton pop sticks in the balls of cake and dip away. Once it cools it forms a candy shell; mmm yum!

After coating the pops in the candy dip mixture, the candy pops can be decorated in any number of ways. Some popular coatings include 100s and 1000s, chocolate freckles and smarties. Let your imagination run free!
